is the name of this one...that's right, I always come up with corny names, but I've got to call them something.
Kelly suggested "the forest" and I went from there.
It is based on the Bonnie Hunter "Crabapples" pattern, I made it larger to fit the bed.
I do love it!
is a sure sign of a good time.
So I must have had one heck of a time.
Actually, we all did.
The kids have been hanging with friends, and having sleepovers every night!
Kelly has spent some good quality time with this guy...
The dogs have been up to the usual.
Which is not a lot...
I have worked in the garden a bit.
And I've been quilting this...
And Bill is here...
so we can finance all this fun. Thank you dear!
There is lots of football to watch today, which is always good.
Hope you are recovering from your turkey day as well.

that we watched the dog show together on tv this morning like we do every year.
that we had a delicious feast and fun table games.
that Bill cooked the most amazing turkey yet, and the stuffing , mashed potatoes and dirty rice.
that my new green bean recipe was so yummy.
that we had TWO desserts.
that we laughed so much today.
that the kitchen is once again clean.
that the we all watched the Peanuts Thanksgiving special together.
that we went on a midnight walk around the neighborhood (all 5 of us plus the 2 dogs).
that the Christmas lights on the house look so pretty!
that we are all home snug and safe.

I've been reading it for 2 days now...
and I LOVE it!
I may or may not have had a dream about Jamie last night.
sigh.
She died peacefully in her sleep this evening.
She will be greatly missed by all of us.
Nutmeg was the best guinea pig ever...
ever.
for public school have already begun.
They are taking the whole week off.
I thought we should do some homeschool for a couple of days at least.
When I told the kids...

She got to go to the midnight Harry Potter premiere with a group of friends!
She had a BLAST...
and said it was the best movie ever!
Lucky girl.
from my getaway last week,
all the kids could tell me was HOW HARD they had worked,
doing math and science with dad!
But then I found these on the camera...
so it seems they had a little fun too.
I knew they would!
are quilts that are made for local charities.
I am involved in two guilds that participate in these donations.
I have made 3 quilts for one guild so far this year, so it was time to make some for the other.
I put these two together with the half-square-triangle blocks I swapped with friends this summer.
They are quilted and ready to be given away.
I hope someone enjoys them...
I enjoyed making them.
Now I need to go brush up on my photography skills...

is a wonderful organization that coordinates the giving of quilts to wounded soldiers.
I have been honored to participate in the making of them in the past.
Last week when I was on my quilting retreat in Toccoa,
I made this top for Quilts of Valor.
It will be quilted by someone else,
and finished by another person.
Together my guild hopes to produce a dozen of these this year.
I can't think of a better cause.
