Back in business...

Excuse me for a few days, I'm busy listing, weighing, packaging and mailing our old homeschool stuff.
I'm sad to see it go, but glad to know it will get used again.
Besides, we can always use the shelf space and I don't mind making a few bucks either.
If you need me, I'll be at the post office.

Control Tower Tour

The kids had the day off school and Bill was able to get a tour of the Atlanta Air Traffic Control Tower.

We had fun and learned a lot too!
Our tour guide was awesome and getting to see how it all works was very interesting.

Quinoa

love this stuff!

Recipe:

Prepare one cup of quinoa according to pkg. directions.

In a bowl, combine one red bell pepper chopped, one can of drained corn and one can of drained and rinsed black beans.

Mix in 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 3 tablespoons of lime juice, 1 teaspoon of parsley, and 2 teaspoons of cumin.

Once the quinoa is cooked, toss it with the rest of the mixture. Eat warm or chilled.

Warning: this could be addictive!

The Record Breakers!

They are FAST and CUTE!

 

the spring planting...

 

took place in our garden yesterday.

Bill and I went to the garden center and bought some plants and seeds, and lots more dirt.

Then we prepared the beds and I planted it all. I am so excited to eat fresh tomatoes, peppers, herbs, lettuces, broccoli, peas, corn, onions and berries this summer.

Because of the warm wet winter we had...the strawberries have taken over almost the whole bed. They are loaded with new berries!

The green onions and chives are blooming beautifully, and a few of last years herbs look great!

This guy likes to watch whats going on...

until he gets attacked by her, and then playing seems like the better option.

It's nice to have the company, even if they are crazy.

The Hunger Games...

Bought the book yesterday.

Finished it today.

Going to see the movie tomorrow.

Can't wait!!!

 

And just like that...

we're home again.

What happens at the beach,

stays at the beach,

but we will say it was magical,

and beautiful,

and way too short...

So now we are home again.

Let the laundry begin...

Makes leaving the beach a bit more bearable.
