The Boys

decided they needed to entertain themselves this weekend while Mom was busy at the quilt show and Kelly was busy at the barn. So Bill took them hiking up Sawnee Mountain. We feel so lucky to have this mountain so close to us. It's a great way to spend a few hours outside enjoying whatever season it happens to be.

Don't worry, they got haircuts on Monday.

Pajama Day!

A tradition we began when the kids were little was called PAJAMA DAY. Usually it would happen when the kids and I were home (Bill would be travelling) and we would just declare a day to stay home and not get dressed. It was fun. We could get a few chores done, but it was really about staying home and staying comfy and relaxing.

I have declared today a PAJAMA DAY. I have loads of laundry to do, meal plans to make, lists to fill,   quilt show supplies to unpack, emails to return, etc. You get the idea...so no need to leave the house or get dressed.

Why?

Why did I wake up at 1:30am to the sound of two boys talking and laughing!?!

Their lives are a non stop party. Even on school nights.

Maybe that's why I am always so tired.

Oh, how I love them, but sometimes....

I just need a nap.

 

 

My favorite time of day...

is those few minutes after Kelly is ready for school and her bags are packed and we sit together on the front porch waiting for the carpool to arrive. We just sit and talk in the quiet cool of the morning. I know these are some of the memories I will treasure most once she has grown up. For now, I will just enjoy our little coversations alone on the porch.

Time Flies!

45 years of my life are history, just like that! They've been pretty good mostly, I'm looking forward to what year 46 brings...

I'm sure it will include plenty of time with these two.

Hopefully, lots of time in here...

And plenty of time with these guys...

It will also include 20 years of this...

And the first full year of having this...

So there's lots to look forward to!
