I went with Bill on his trip to Brussels this week. Mimi came and stayed with the kids. It was really nice and we enjoyed walking and exploring the beautiful city. The temperatures were below freezing the whole time but the snow and sunshine were so nice.
We ate some amazing meals and had some wonderful coffee. But the waffles were an experience. Oh my they were so delicious. The chocolate was pretty good too.
We found a fabric store called Le Tissus du Chien Vert, where I found some wonderful fabrics and had so much fun looking at everything. In the end, I decided upon 5 fabrics and 1 piece of trim. I could have easily taken home more if my suitcase were larger!
We brought home chocolates and biscuits for Mimi, the kids, and friends. But mostly, I am so happy that Bill and I were able to make some lovely memories together. Life has been a bit stressful the last few months, and just taking the time to relax and hold hands is really nice. The fact that we were able to do so in a beautiful ancient European city was a real bonus.
It's always good to come home though.
