Project Life 2012...

I am really enjoying it again this year. For all the information about this wonderful project just click on the button to the right and it will link you to the website.

I decided to make a few small changes this year from last.

Number one: Not as much extra stuff! Not as many inserts! It's not that I don't enjoy those, and I am glad I have them from last year, but the binder is difficult to close! I managed to keep the whole year in one binder, but it is crammed! This year, I want to have a little more "breathing room" in the binder. So far I have only added one insert to the first week.

Number two: I am using my own scrapbook collection of papers and embellishments. That was a hard choice to make because the ones available are SO DANG CUTE! I really wanted to order the Clementine kit. But I have so much stuff that I bought in the past because I loved it, so why not use it? I collected some papers that seemed to coordinate (in my mind at least) and cut them to size for both the large and small spaces. I am also using my collection for embellishments. There is no chance I will run out of stuff before the end of the year. So I saved money, and I am using products I love. And it's an original! Win, win, win.

Number three: Not corner chomping this year. I know, it looks so cute to have all the corners rounded, but really, it saves SO much time to just pop the papers and photos in without the extra step of rounding the corners. I like the look and yes, I will still use some leftovers from last year that have rounded corners. The different looks don't bother me a bit.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same as last year's.

Here's the photo of the title page. I will add a photo of the kids to this when I get one this year that I really love. I'll also anything else that seems to need to be added. I included an exerpt from the blog about the new year. This is just my starting point.

No, it's not finished yet. The post it note is to remind me to print a photo off of Bill's camera.

I use post it notes to label as the week goes along if I want to remember to include something.

They are quick and easy, and I can always rearrange them if I decide to.

Project Life 2012

I've been using Project Life by Becky Higgins for the past year and I love it!

It makes scrapbooking so simple, yet it's really effective for recording everydy life.

I bought the package last year and I do like it, but she is offering it in individual pieces this year.

I ordered the pages (plastic for slipping the pictures and memorabilia into.)

I also ordered the cool pocket pages and some fun photo flips.

But instead of ordering the paper products again, for title and journaling cards,

I decided to make my own using a tiny portion of the rather extensive scrapbooking stash that I already own.

It won't be limited to this, but this is a good start. Notice the OLD papers from manufacturers that are no longer around, and the month stickers from, ahem, 2007. We're calling it vintage, go with me here, okay?

Thrifty and creative. Besides, I bought all of these papers because I love them, so why not use them?

I am anxious for the pages to come in so I can start cutting, sorting, and stuffing them!

I'll be all ready to record 2012 before it even begins!

Whee...this makes me way happier than it probably should, but I love fun and easy!

I have been slowly adding stitches to this...

I am well on my way to finish quilting this...

And I've been keeping up to date with this...

 

Maybe it's time I did a little "tidying up" of my desk?

Nah, I'll just go quilt something.

 

Project Life 2011

It's such a great way to record our family history!

I am having so much fun taking photos and saving bits and pieces of things to add.

So glad I chose to use this system this year.

And a certain someone wanted to be in the pictures too...

Still dreaming of those, sigh.

Oh, and still finding lots of little April Fool's surprises that the kids left around the house. They were so pleased with their creativity.

 
At least those 2,367, 897,456,234,987 littlest pet shop toys that we have are still coming in handy. Haha.

Spring Break at Home.

Spring Break has officially begun. But Bill has to work. So we are just hanging out at home.

The boys are reading these in every spare moment. They have almost finished the first three in less than two weeks.

She is still reading this series, in order, this time.

I have been enjoying these. Can I just say that Henry is, well, yummy. There I said it!

A sweet laundry angel left these all folded for me. I love you!

And I hung this beautiful piece by my sweet friend Mary Ruth, here. It's perfect for this spot.

 

I also finished this 2009 family scrapbook. I love watching the kids flip through it. So cute.

The boys are also loving their new mattresses. So comfy. And, NO, they will not be jumping onto these from the balcony. Just for the record...

Bill assembled my new IKEA unit yesterday for my scrap space and I am so excited.

I loaded all of my stuff into it with the best part being, it's finally off the floor!!! The two open cubes are waiting for my new paper trays for all of my patterned papers. I still have some sorting to do under the desk, but for the most part, this is it...
