The Record Breakers!

This 4 x 100 relay team has officially broken the school record that was set in 1994!

They are FAST and CUTE!

 

She ran...

as fast as she could. She didn't place in the 100, but it was close!

And she took the handoff in the 4x400...

and closed the gap...

but it wasn't enough.

Still,

I couldn't be prouder

if she had won an olympic medal.

 

 

It was a blur!!!

Literally...Kelly's first track meet that is!

She ran the 4x100, 100, 200 and 4x400(anchor!)

Here's 3/4 of the 4x100...Desiree, Jessie, and Kelly.

And Annie, Kelly and Jessie (neck and neck) going for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 200.

After the handoff, Kelly does her thing...fast!

And getting some sweet talk from her coach!

How was that for a first attempt at the 4x400? Awesome!

Too bad they didn't have any fun!?! hahaha

 

Basketball Anyone?

This is the crew that plays at our house most weekends.

Plus or minus a couple of boys.

It's never serious...

but always fun.

But beware of random attacks from this girl...

They had so much fun, that they convinced us girls to go next time.

I vote for a day when it isn't so bloomin' hot, but that's just me.

they insist these rips don't hurt, at least not for very long.

It looks painful to me, but these guys know it's just part of the sport.

Today was the Men's Gymnastics State Championship Meet for Georgia.

Danny had an awesome day, winning lots of medals and setting personal best scores on several events.

He was very pleased but he thought it was just like any other meet.

I explained to him that his 2ND PLACE ALL AROUND means that according to the state of Georgia, he is the second best gymnast in the whole state for his age and level.

He was thrilled.

David responded, "Then according to the state of Georgia, I suck!"

He had an "off" day.

He still placed 4th on the floor and made two personal best scores.

But he was bummed.

That lasted for about half the car ride home, then...

he was setting goals for next year and congratulating his brother on his success!

These boys are both EXCELLENT at gymnastics and have improved SO much this year.

But I am much more proud of their attitude than their skills.

The fact that they encourage and help each other is way more important than if they stick their landing.

Know what I mean?

And I know I shouldn't play favorites, but this guy cracks me up! I adore you, Ollie.

We met Raj Bhavsar today!

The olympic gymnast was at the meet today! It was nice to visit with him and he even put the boys' medals on them during the awards ceremony. It was very cool! We have been a big fan of his for a long time!

 

It was nice to have Mimi and Popa here to cheer the boys on as well!

Once again, they made me very proud!

It is so great to see them attempt and complete new skills each time.

They will be moving up a level soon and competition will be tougher.

But they are ready!

Winter Games...

 
So they may not have been on the Olympic scale, but we sure had fun in 2007 at Park City. We even had a Shawn White sighting in the lift line. Our condo was at the bottom of the half pipe that was being used for the X games the following week. I'm sure we saw a few other celebrities too, we just weren't cool enough to know it.

 
Tim and Denise and Sarah are skiing this week at Crested Butte, CO. We hope they are having fun! We sure had fun with them in 2006.

And you know we couldn't pass up this photo op! Oh, those are some great memories! We miss you guys!
